Who would ever think of taking a picture of a tree! That's a comment I received at a recent gallery show where this image was on display. I hope she found it inspiring, I think she did. I also hope it was a realization to her that it's possible to walk through this world without really seeing it and therefore she might begin to look harder, gain more insight and appreciation and ultimately lead a more satisfying life. The texture of the Ponderosa Pine is remarkable and a forest of healthy trees in the background bring into being numerous triangles, a primary shape that attracts the human eye.
Ponderosa Pine in Selway Bitterroot Wilderness area, a region that extends into both the Clearwater National Forest and Bitterroot National Forest, the Selway-Bitterroot Wilderness covers more than 1.2 million acres of North Central Region.
