I won my first watercolor contest in 4th grade and I work in all types of mediums. My High School Teacher L.T. Gordon provided me with art supplies that Im sure he purchased with his own money. As a senior in High School, I coordinated and produced a solo show at the First Hutchings-Sealy National Bank, in Galveston, Texas. That same year, my Art was regionally selected as a Scholastic Art Gold Key Winner and displayed in the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston, Texas for 6 weeks. Also during 80, my work received the prestigious Best of Show for the the Houston LiveStock Show and Rodeo. In College, I studied under Robert Madden, professor of the late Janis Joplin, Lamar University, in Beaumont Texas. I studied sculpture and ceramics under Meredith Jack whom frequently displays at Long Gallery in Houston, Texas. For watercolor, I studied under the expert tutelage of the late, Jerry Newman, Texas State Artist.
