Mairin Gilmartin

I am an artist living and working in Co Waterford, Ireland. I have always been aware of a spiritual aspect to my work, I love the deep and mysterious that I encounter constantly in my daily life and it is my intention to express this through my work - I call it Art for the Soul . Light and colour are the essence of my work.

Two years ago, when I was at a crossroads in my life I was inspired to create Angels. This came as a complete surprise to me as I had been intent on following a different path. Life always leads us where we need to be. In more recent times I have been exploring the inner life of stones, large ancient stones that hold tremendous wisdom and have witnessed the history of our ancestors, or small beach pepples that I find on my daily walks by the sea. In each of them I encounter the mysterious and I wonder at their secret life.

We all respond emotionally to the beauty of colour, knowing intuitively (whether we are aware of it or not) the healing energy we need at a particular time. It is my hope and intention that my artwork will uplift and inspire you - please enjoy the energy and love with which they were created.
