Statement of the Artist: “Since I remember, I was always sketching and drawing during my childhood. I could say I inherited my mother’s ability to paint. At a very young age, while doing artworks in school, I realized I had a special art and handicrafts skills, which increased my interest and passion for art. It was then when I began to seek to develop my natural abilities through my own exploration, and with the guidance of teachers and friends with an expertise in the arts. At age sixteen, using oils and acrylics principally, I began to paint figurative art that was mostly inspired by human shapes and by the beautiful landscapes and nature of my country. Later, after discovering new alternatives and techniques, my work slowly began to move away from a figurative art to an abstract art, with a focus on rich textures and vibrant colors in large scale pieces. I have since found painting to be a true liberating experience that allows me to create something new, every time I mix surfaces, mediums, colors and feelings. My work is diverse and allows for a varied sense of visualization and interpretation. I don’t look to transmit a defined and precise expression in each work I do. More important for me, is what you, as the viewer, can perceive and feel with my art, thus establishing a unique connection with each art piece.”
